London Update 2

So, we missed the last train home again and once more faced a long walk home from the bus stop. That was after leaving the 3rd club and doing the Number 1 forbidden act - eating from a street vendor! Sausage and onion rolls and freshly cooked hamburgers never tasted so good!! The next day however we put to some more good use... Troy had an appointment in the afternoon so after waking up late due to night before, I headed off into the city by myself and did the walking tourist tour along the Thames, acoss the Tower Bridge past the Tower of London and then up to St Pauls Cathedral. Berns, you'll be happy to know I made it to the British Museum but I couldn't find The Rosetta Stone (i think that's what you said??) but enjoyed it all the same. Friday night we were off to the theatre to see WICKED - the untold story of the witches of Oz. The show was BRILLIANT!! I can see why it won so many Tony Awards and we both really enjoyed ourselves. The fact that we were able to get a 2 course dinner plus the show for £20 (about $50) made it even better as most tickets are £57 or more (about $140 for those of you playing at home) so we really got a good deal!! After the show we went for a couple of drinks and were on the tube by 11.45pm, how proud of ourselves were we that night??? Saturday was spent doing the markets... Portobello Road and Camden markets, then onto Covent Garden for a wander. I managed to buy a couple of things and then it was home to watch X-Factor, UK's version of Australian Idol... a few hours of rest however and we were restless so felt we just HAD TO go out again!! After a very interesting night where we kept going into places that weren't quite what they appeared from outside (Bears. Lots of Bears.) and we got home about 4.15. Today, we're doing our laundry (hence the side trip to the Internet Cafe) before we fly out to Paris tomorrow morning. It's very naughty... While it sounds fun, when we consider that our flight leaves at 6am, you have to get there 2 hrs before and the airport takes an hr and half to get there, we'll be leaving Troy's place at about stupid o'clock to get there. I'm sure we'll find a bar to pass our time in.... Time's almost out and the next time you hear from me, I'll be experiencing all the sights and sounds of Paris... Tre's Bien!

That's tremendous that you made it to the British Museum Dan!! Did you love it? V. dissappointed that you couldn't find the Rosetta Stone. I remember Rose saying they had moved it (from where I said it was). Why can't they just leave it in one spot? It's not an occassional table, for the love of crumbcake! Glad you're have a chops time - enjoy Paris.
