UK Update

Well, after being delayed at Brunei by 5 hrs and then being left sitting on the tarmac at Heathrow airport for 45 mins before taxiing to the gate, I finally arrived safely after a 32 hour flight from hell!! It was home to Troy's to drop off my stuff and have a quick bite to eat before jumping on the tube and heading into the city. First stop, Picadilly Circus, Soho and surrounds:
We wandered through St James Park, Trafalgar Square and I had my first glimpse of the London Eye and Big Ben though I didn't see it properly until the next day. That night, it was out for a "couple of quiet drinks" ending up at various bars for 1.60 pound drinks and missing the last train home. The night bus was fun though and we had to walk for about 30 mins, TRAFALGAR SQUARE very drunk to get home from where it dropped us off. Not fun. Nor was the massive hangover we both had the following morning... :)
LONDON EYE OVERLOOKING
THE THAMES
We did our best though and got back into the tourist swing of things on Wednesday, saw Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, London Eye and had a wander through Westminster Abbey
WESTMINSTER ABBEY
which was pretty cool - lots of statues and memorial like things for a bunch of dead people I'd never heard of... BUT there were some outstanding ones also - Elizabeth I, King George and a few others I don't remember now. Finished the day with wander up Oxford Street and doing several spots of shopping... The weather has been beautiful and today we made the most of it by catching the train down to Brighton for a few hours, checked out the Pier and little lanes around Brighton beach and had some fish and chips down by the beach... Tonight, we'll be going out for a couple of drinks again but we've agreed that we will be home by the last train (last one is at 1am) so hopefully, there'll be no hangovers tomorrow!!
